
Styx Hallows
This was my team’s submission for the GDC August 2022 Game Jam, where we had 72 hours to create a video game. The theme was ‘Death is not the end…death is progress’ and so we decided to create a game based on rebirth and the historical mythical creatures that symboled rebirth. The level 1 character was a Scarab beetle, level 2 was an Ouroboros and level 3 was a Phoenix.
My co-composer Lewis Richardson wrote and recorded the initial acoustic guitar melodies and riffs, while I composed the additional digital instrument/synthesiser parts and produced the tracks. This project was a true musical collaboration and I am proud of how it came together under the time constraint.
