Amplifying Voices

As part of my internship placement at Bertz Associates I was tasked with scoring their Podcast. This podcast gives a voice to the community, as we hear about their views on the Tower Ballroom and what they envisage in it’s place.

I was asked to compose a track of 3-5 mins, with sections of varying intensity that could stand alone, so the producer could pick and choose smaller sections to fit between the discussions in the podcast. Ultimately the music needed to work underneath the podcast discussion and not distract from it, therefore I gave the producer two versions of every track, one with piano and strings and one just piano. A mix of the two instrumentations can be heard throughout the podcast. The track develops some of the melodic content from the Sporting Tower film score, symbolising the link between the two Tower Ballroom projects.
