The Blk Art Group

This soundtrack was composed for a short documentary film commissioned by The BLK Art Group to look back on the last 40+ years and how the group’s founders have influenced and inspired a new generation of artists. The film includes clips of ‘The more things change’ exhibit that was shown at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery and features works by “key artists of the BLK Art Group”.The track has moments of focused instrumental as well as instrumental sections composed to underscore interview segments.

As a University of Birmingham alumni I was able to use the university’s Frankland Studio to record live saxophone for the soundtrack. This was a wonderful opportunity to work with my friend, and fellow musician, Emma Ward and to learn more from David Birnie the Studio Technician at UoB.
