Rolling At the Tower
This community documentary explores the history of roller skating in Birmingham that started in 1871 with the construction of the Tower Ballroom at the Edgbaston Reservoir in Ladywood. Ladywood is an area which is under threat of gentrification due to its closeness to the city centre, and is currently earmarked for demolition, threatening the erasure of its strong working class history.
In my role as producer I planned and organised logistics for the film’s interview recording, ensured efficient communication between the crew, led team meetings and was responsible for overseeing the films general production.
As audio lead, I was responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the film's sound/music. This included leading the sound recording on the set of the interview filming, editing the various interview audio, poetry recordings and VO recording, in addition to composing the film’s soundtrack and mixing the audio for the whole film.
